The Napa Open Space District acquired this 224-acre oak and bay woodland from the Land Trust of Napa County in 2008. Accessible only by hand-launched boat from Capell Cove, the District’s property together with the adjacent public and land trust properties protects the area’s unique wildlife and habitat, and allows hiking and rustic camping.
We are currently working to make back country trail and campground improvements. At present, there is very limited finished trail built, but there are several dirt tracks that lead up from the lakeshore into and through the park to the ridge.
Accessible by boat only in this specific area of Lake Berryessa, this park offers unique views and a chance to experience backcountry hiking and camping without going far from home. We ask that all of our visitors to this park be respectful of existing dirt track trails and be patient with our construction progress.
