In honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day of Action, Napa County Open Space District will be hosting a volunteer event at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park for a hybrid hike/ work day to remove non-native Algerian Ivy within the park unit.
Meet: 9 AM at the Visitors Center of Bothe-Napa Valley State Park
Bring: gloves, layered clothing, and water
Light snack and breakfast items will be provided.
We will meet at the Visitor Center parking lot just past the entrance by 9:00 a.m. for a safety talk and logistics. We will then caravan to the campground where we will start the 1.5 mile hike to the site – It is a beautiful hike along the creek through redwood groves and giant Douglas Firs. Once at the site we will hand pull ivy and use weed wrenches.
