Special Event Permits in Napa Open Space District Parks
Special Events occurring on Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District properties require a Special Event Permit. A Special Event is defined as any non-NCRPOSD sponsored event that meets one or more of the following criteria:
- Events with a participation fee
- Events that are of a non-outdoor recreational nature
- Outdoor recreational activities of 30 or more people
- On-going classes or programs
- Events that request partial or exclusive use of an area of the park
- Events of a commercial nature
- Events that request amplified sound
- Events requiring stages, tents, barricades, fences or other items.
Events cannot compromise the park or its grounds, harm the environment, deter public access where otherwise allowed, or significantly prevent park visitors from enjoying the park and facilities during normal operating hours.
If you are unsure if your event requires a permit, please contact us at info@ncrposd.org.
To Submit a Special Event Permit Application:
- Download and review the full Special Event Permit policy.
- Please contact us at info@ncrposd.org so that we can discuss your potential event and outline specifics and availability for park(s) in consideration. Once our introductory discussion has concluded, staff will provide a Special Event Permit application if your event is eligible to be considered for approval.
- Hosting a special event requires the submission of an application describing the nature and scope of the event for our staff to review. Special Event Permit applications must be received no later than 60 days prior to the date of your event, and may be submitted up to one year in advance of your event date.
- There is a $50.00 non-refundable application fee due at the time of submission.
