The Ridge Trail turned 30, so get Dirty!

On Saturday, November 2, hundreds of volunteers will join the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council, REI Co-op, and our park and non-profit partners for the 12th annual Ridge Trail Day to celebrate and give back to the trail we love!

Volunteers will repair trail tread, build drainage features, remove litter, improve trailside habitats and give the Ridge Trail some TLC! After their hard work, volunteers will be able to socialize and have a chance to win great prizes from REI Co-op.

The locations, descriptions, and hours for each project are listed below to help you choose a site to attend. For volunteers under 18, please pay attention to the minimum age requirement. Specific meeting location will be emailed to you after registration.

Napa – Skyline Wilderness Park: Team up with Skyline Wilderness Park Association for a day of trail maintenance along the Ridge Trail in this popular park. Fix and repair incised section of trail and rework water bars. Ages 14 and up are welcome to participate. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Project Hours: 9:00AM – 2:00PM. Register Below

Angwin – Pacific Union College: Join the Redwood Empire Mountain Bike Alliance (REMBA) and Pacific Union College to help clean up a prominent ridgeline forest road after some recent fire mitigation work, which was a key project to protect the community of Angwin. This will entail raking woody materials off the forest road, which currently affects hiking and cycling on this beautiful ridgeline trail. Ages 9 and up are welcome to participate. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Project hours: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.     Register Below

St. Helena – Moore Creek Park: Volunteers will work to improve switchbacks on Valentine Vista Trail, and Dryfoot Trail has a water crossing that needs some rock moving to make it safer. Ages 14 and up are welcome to participate. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Project Hours: 9:00AM – 1:00PM. Register Below

American Canyon – Newell Open Space / Lynch Canyon: Volunteers will join the City of American Canyon, Solano Land Trust, and Solano County Parks to restore a seasonal wetland and to improve trail way finding. We will be conducting a native species planting portion around the perimeter of the wetland and installing trail way finding posts along the existing trail. All ages are welcome. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Project Hours: 9:00AM – 1:00PM. Register Below
