Help bring some ReLeaf to our cherished parks.

If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that people value our parks here in Napa County.

We knew this before 2020, when use of our parks and trails was increasing as quickly as we were able to open new properties and trails to public use – and it’s only become clearer in the past several years. During the Coronavirus pandemic, park usage skyrocketed and our parks and open spaces saw massive increases in daily visitors. The outpouring of support in the wake of two unprecedented fires reinforced that our community supports, wants, and needs our parks.

Your Support Matters

The reality is that we don’t have the resources to handle the demand for our parks without your help.

This past few years have been challenging at best, adding strain to what was already a difficult financial situation. The Napa Open Space District operates with the generous support and steadfast commitment from the Napa County Board of Supervisors, in the form of a Special Projects Fund grant that gives us basic funding each year. But that Special Projects Fund has been ravaged by both the effects of the pandemic and the devastating fires of 2020. Without community support we won’t be able to sustain, let alone grow, our parks.

Your donations can help us weather the coming storm.

Help us ReLeaf Napa’s Parks

The Napa Open Space District has a small but mighty staff that moves mountains to make parks, trails, and open spaces accessible, enjoyable, and educational to all of our visitors. Our county has some of the most beautiful and unique natural areas available to us, and we are proud of our role in protecting these places and helping people enjoy them.

We want to continue to build on all of the essential work that’s been started, but we need your help. Your generous support helps our daily work continue and grow.

Your donations will help:

  • Provide access to trails and outdoor recreation throughout Napa County. With such high demand for outdoor recreation we want to continue to provide spaces and opportunities for these activities.
  • Maintain and improve our parks and trails and reduce risk of catastrophic wildfire.  We accomplish a tremendous amount of maintenance work with help from our volunteers, but staff time and coordination are needed to keep these activities up.
  • Continue to expand recreational spaces and outdoor experiences.  The District has a long track record of successfully leveraging grants and other funding sources to expand public lands and improve existing parks.
  • Create and augment outdoor programs and nature-based educational activities for families and children in our parks.
  • Purchase Skyline Wilderness Park.  Skyline Wilderness Park has long been a focus for the District and we’ll continue to negotiate with the State to protect this community park.

How You Can Help: Become a Supporter Today!

We’ll continue our work to improve and expand outdoor recreation with your help.

We know that there is tremendous support for our parks and trails, and a need for us all to steward our public lands and protect our legacy for future generations.
