Look closely, there are two mountain lions! Mama and baby perhaps?
We are proud to have these amazing creatures inhabit our preserved lands. The Mountain Lion is a keystone species that is a natural part of this environment and is a sign of a healthy ecosystem.
The chances of ever seeing a mountain lion in the wild are very low, if sighted mountain lions will most likely keep moving and you will only see it for a few seconds. If you do encounter a mountain lion do not run away.
Berryessa Vista Wilderness Park is a 224-acre park accessible only by boat from Lake Berryessa. No potable water or other services are provided. There are numerous dirt tracks leading from the edge of the lake up into and through the park. Sweeping views of Lake Berryessa and the surrounding countryside can be had from various locations. The terrain is generally steep and the vegetation is a diverse mixture of Oaks Woodland, Gray Pine Forest, and Chaparral. The Napa Open Space District allows hiking, backpacking and backcountry camping at Berryessa Vista Wilderness Park, however, please do not have open fires.
Check out a map of the park on our homepage or download the OuterSpatial App (Now available on Android and iOS!).
