Special Bay Area License Plate

You can now order a special license plate to help parks and open space

This special license plate will generate a long-term, flexible source of funds to protect wildlife habitat, parks, and farmland and provide trails and public recreation in Napa County and the rest of the nine-county Bay Area.

The Bay Area license plate has an iconic image of the Golden Gate Bridge and the tagline "Nature Within Reach".  The plate costs $50 for initial registration ($90 for personalized plates), with a $40 annual renewal fee ($70 for personalized plates).  Pledges can be made on-line at www.bayarealicenseplate.org.

Funds generated by the license plate will be administered by the State Coastal Conservancy for the benefit of the San Francisco Bay Area Conservancy Program.  The Conservancy Program helps preserve wildlife habitat, protect farmland and acquire and improve open space for parks and trails.

The Conservancy Program recently awarded the Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District a $1.65 million grant to help acquire the planned Moore Creek Open Space Park.
