Readying Napa County’s next major natural park and developing a sales tax ballot measure are among the chores on tap for the county Regional Park and Open Space District this year.
The district recently released a brief report looking at what 2016 might hold.
In 2015, the district bought 411 acres of the Kirkland Ranch in hills north of Highway 12 and Jameson Canyon, near the city of Napa’s water treatment plant and Jamieson Ranch Vineyards. A $1.1 million grant is paying for the purchase and to build a staging area.
But the district isn’t ready to open the park to the public. Next comes the behind-the-scenes work…
